The xenophobic president jumps at the chance to condemn immigrants over acts of terror, while he refuses to denounce the mass shooters who claimed an unconscionable number of human lives in 2017.
When Trump saw an opportunity to satiate the taste buds of his xenophobic base by halting the Obama-created DACA program, he took it. There are currently approximately 800,000 immigrants, who were brought to America as children by their parents, protected under the DACA program. The Trump administration wants to deport them, as expressed by its new decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
Due to the extreme cruelness of the move to end DACA, U.S. District Judge William Alsup in San Francisco imposed a temporary ban that allows states to continue DACA.
Judge Alsup stated, “lawyers in favor of DACA clearly demonstrated that the young immigrants ‘were likely to suffer serious, irreparable harm’ without court action. The judge also said the lawyers have a strong chance of succeeding at trial.”
Considering immigrants protected by DACA (Dreamers) were brought to the country as children, America is all they know. Some of them only speak English. Sending them back to their home countries could ruin their lives.
California Attorney General Becerra released the following statement:
“Dreamers lives were thrown into chaos when the Trump Administration tried to terminate the DACA program without obeying the law. Tonight’s ruling is a huge step in the right direction.”

The judge’s determination to block the Trump administration’s DACA decision follows in the footsteps of federal judges’ efforts to ensure Trump’s Muslim ban didn’t survive.
