Former Vice President Joe Biden celebrated even better than expected Democratic victories in states across the country in Tuesday’s elections. Biden is still denying to answer that he will run in 2020, but those in the know say he will and it certainly looks to be that way. “He is running. I know he’s running. I’ve talked to his people. He’s running,” said MSNBC host Chris Matthews last friday.
“A resounding defeat tonight for President Trump. Voters around the country rejected the ugly politics we have seen this past year. Instead, they chose candidates who unite and inspire us.” Biden posted to social media.
These wins were key to giving Democrats valuable momentum ahead of the 2018 midterm elections and eventually taking back the White House for Democrats. Many are surprised by just how many elections Democrats won last night. “This is not a wave. This is a tsunami,” said Virginia Del. David Toscano last night, leader of the state’s Democratic caucus.
Last night’s wins confirmed what most have speculated since Trump was elected, people have seen the train wreck that is his presidency and are not going to make the same mistake again. Folks have seen what happens when you don’t vote and they don’t want to make the same mistake again. If we can make it through Trump’s presidency, the Democratic Party should come out stronger than ever before.
