Trump Admits He’s Never Looked At A World Map & Gets Laughed At During State Dinner In Japan

President Trump made a toast today during a state dinner with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and Japanese officials at Akasaka Palace, part of his trip to Asia. During the toast, Trump admitted that he didn’t realize there were “so many” countries in the world, which drew laughter from the audience.

The sad thing is that Trump was simply recounting his experience after winning the 2016 election and did not appear to be intentionally making a joke. He was being serious. It really comes at no surprise that Trump literally doesn’t know much about the world and has apparently never taken a glance at a world map.

“So my relationship with Shinzo got off to quite a rocky start because I never ran for office, and here I am. But I never ran, so I wasn’t very experienced. And after I had won, everybody was calling me from all over the world. I never knew we had so many countries. (Laughter.)” said Trump, as seen in this official White House press release here and in the footage below. Skip ahead to 4:00 to see the comments above.
