Trump Claims New FBI Text Messages Are “BOMBSHELLS” But It’s All Fake News

President Trump jumped on social media this Wednesday morning to draw attention to newly released text messages from FBI agents Peter Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page, hoping and clearly believing that Conservative media had somehow saved him from Mueller’s Russia investigation.

“NEW FBI TEXTS ARE BOMBSHELLS!” Trump posted. One text sent on September 2, 2016, by Page, tells Strzok that “potus wants to know everything we’re doing.” Fox News claims this text “raises questions about Obama’s personal involvement in the Clinton email investigation.”

Trump thinks the messages are bombshells because of Fox News’ reporting, but Fox reported on the texts in a manner that makes the claim about “Obama’s personal involvement in the Clinton email investigation” completely fake news.

The texts in question were sent in September, roughly two months after Comey announced he would not recommend criminal charges against Clinton for using a personal email server as secretary of State.

The irony is that these messages probably refer to FBI agents Peter Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page making sure that former President Obama was updated on the Russia investigation, not the already closed Clinton email investigation.

Trump is simply drawing attention to text messages that simply prove that Obama was making sure he stayed informed on the Russia investigations, as it is the President’s job to protect us from foreign nations.
