Trump Runs Scared & Calls Off The IQ Challenge He Issued Against Rex Tillerson This Morning

President Trump stirred up controversy this morning by challenging Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to an IQ test to see who is smarter, implying that he is smarter than Tillerson. Trump told Forbes magazine that if Tillerson did actually call him a “moron,” then, “I guess we’ll have to compare IQ tests, and I can tell you who is going to win.” Trump has now completely back tracked on his challenge to Tillerson today at the White House.

“Did you undercut the Secretary of State this morning with the IQ comment?” Trump then paused for a second, clearly caught off guard, before responding, “No, I didn’t undercut anybody. I don’t believe in undercutting people.” Trump was then asked, “Do you still have confidence in Secretary Tillerson?” to which Trump replied, “Yes.” You can see it all in the clip below.

Trump has clearly backed off his IQ challenge to Tillerson with his answer. He seems to have recognized what a terrible idea it was to even suggest something so ridiculous. There is no way you can say that Trump did not undercut Tillerson by calling for an IQ test. Like I’ve said, imagine if your boss asked you to take an IQ test against him/her to prove who was smarter. It is almost hard to imagine such a thing even happening, but that’s exactly what happened when Trump challenged Tillerson.

Considering Trump’s massive ego, it really says something that he would back off his own challenge to Tillerson. Funny enough, Mensa, which describes itself as “an international society whose only qualification for membership is a score in the top two percent of the general population on a standardized intelligence test,” offered today to host a test for Trump and Tillerson.

“American Mensa would be happy to hold a testing session for President Trump and Secretary Tillerson,” said Charles Brown, the group’s communications director. Looks like Trump would rather run scared than back up his tough talk. He is mostly all talk and no action anyway, so we can’t say we are surprised he would run for the hills.

**UPDATE! White house officially calls it all a joke!**
