Will Smith Just Revealed What Obama Said About Him Playing The Former President In A Film

Taking a break for a moment from the insanity we are experiencing, as tensions escalate with North Korea due to President Trump’s threats of nuclear war, Actor Will Smith revealed some very interesting news about a conversation he had with former President Obama, in which they discussed a film about Obama’s life.

Will Smith is claiming that former President Obama gave him his blessing to play the former president in a movie. “Yeah I talked to Barack about it,” Smith said, “He told me that he felt confident that I had the ears for the role.” There can be no doubt that a film will be made about Obama. It would be interesting for Will Smith to play Obama, as he has such a recognizable persona, that it might be hard for people to fully immerse themselves and accept him as being Obama. Smith can be serious though while still retaining a comedic charm, much like Obama, so it could work out quite well.

Will Smith told “Late Late Show” host James Corden on Tuesday’s segment of “Carpool Karaoke” about his discussion with Obama. Smith and Corden joked that Smith could use some of his catch phrases. “You know, when they come into the Situation Room, ‘Aw hell no,’ ” Smith said.

Will Smith claps for Barack Obama as he enters the Nobel Prize ceremony.

Former first lady Michelle Obama has said in the past, that she would pick Smith or Denzel Washington to play Obama in a movie. Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, were huge supporters of the Obamas and hosted many fundraisers for them. You can watch Smith’s segment with Corden below. His comments about Obama start at around 4:19.
