Here we go! We just got the first big exchange of words between major 2020 presidential candidates this year. Bernie Sanders, currently leading polls in the incredibly important Iowa primary, struck back against Donald Trump calling him “crazy” this afternoon and showed he is ready to go for Trump’s throat.
“Wow! Crazy Bernie Sanders is surging in the polls, looking very good against his opponents in the Do Nothing Party. So what does this all mean? Stay tuned!” Trump posted this afternoon. As of writing this, Trump had not followed up on this cryptic Tweet.

Senator Bernie Sanders fired back at Trump within a span of just 7 minutes and said, “It means you’re going to lose.” This was a good response considering Trump never bothered to follow up on “what does this mean?”
It may well mean that Bernie’s poll numbers means Trump will lose to him, because White House Director of Communications for President Obama and Director of Communications for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign Jennifer Palmieri, sent “Congratulations” to Sanders because, “the person who has led this poll has gone on to be nominee in last six cycles.”

A big part of winning in 2020 is dominating the news waves and getting your name out there to the voting public. Sanders wasted no time responding to an attack from Trump because it guarantees him a lot of buzz. Although he leads in the polls, Biden and Warren are very close behind him, so it’s anyone’s game right now. But for sure, this is the first big exchange of attacks this year and we can safely mark it as the real start of the 2020 presidential election.
