We have been tormented by Donald Trump’s insanity and self absorbed narcissism for over four years now, since he started his campaign in 2015, but what he said in a recent interview about Americans wearing masks is still somehow shocking. His ability to make everything about himself is truly unprecedented.
Trump claimed just yesterday in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, that Americans that are wearing masks to help stop the spread of coronavirus are only doing so to protest against him. Trump said it is a way for people to “signal disapproval of him.” Wow.
Only Trump could make the choice to wear a mask all about himself. He even went as far as attacking wearing masks completely by making an argument that they are not effective and increase the spread of coronavirus.
“They put their finger on the mask, and they take them off, and then they start touching their eyes and touching their nose and their mouth,” Trump told the Journal. “And then they don’t know how they caught it?”
I would actually say that there is not one American in this entire country that is wearing a mask specifically to spite Donald Trump. That person does not exist. His idea here could only be conjured up in his own mind. No one includes getting back at Trump in their decision on whether or not to wear a mask.
Trump is confusing this with his own people because for sure there are people on the opposite side of this spectrum. There are definitely people not wearing masks because Trump basically told them not to by not setting an example and wearing one himself.
This interview was so crazy that Trump even admitted that some people at his upcoming rally this Saturday will catch coronavirus, but that it’s not big deal because “it’s a very small percentage.” Thank God we are down to counting the months until he’s gone.
