Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are officially engaged in one of the most hostile war of words that we have seen in decades after Trump called Trudeau “two-faced” today at the 70th anniversary NATO summit.
Trump was asked about a tape that has been circulating on social media that features world leaders, including PM Trudeau, mocking Trump behind his back for being late all the time. We will explore the tape below, but first let’s take a look at Trump’s reaction to the tape.
Trump was asked at a press conference today about whether he had seen the tape and responded, “Well, he?s two-faced.” Trump then paused for some time and realized what he he said. Trump tried to save it and said, “And honestly with Trudeau, he?s a nice guy. I find him to be a very nice guy. They should be paying 2 percent. So I called him out on that, and I?m sure he wasn?t happy about it but that?s the way it is.”

The tape that got Trump upset is below and features Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, joking around about Trump being late to meetings. “He was late because he takes a 40-minute press conference off the top,” Trudeau said. “You just watched his team?s jaws drop to the floor.”

This is as bad as you can get diplomatically and this is a real fight. Trudeau’s comments were not that serious, made under the assumption of privacy, and 100% accurate about Trump’s lateness. Trump calling one of our closest allies “two faced” is nothing short of a disaster. It’s immature and unpresidential.
