Japanese Oil Tanker Owner Responds After Trump Insists Iran Attacked It In A.M. Interview

Donald Trump appeared on his go-to propaganda spreading morning show Fox & Friends and discussed the two Japanese commercial oil tankers that were attacked and bombed in the Gulf of Oman yesterday. The Trump administration is blaming Iran for the attack, but after what Bush did with WMDs in Iraq, the American people are highly suspicious of this claim.

Trump said on Fox that his “evidence” that Iran attacked the oil tankers in the Persian Gulf is that “you know they did it because you saw the boat.” Trump is referring to footage released by the U.S. Navy that they claim shows an Iranian patrol vessel retrieving an unexploded mine from the hull of one of the ships.

Trump said that the situation has “got Iran written all over it,” before then changing the subject to attack Former President Barack Obama. You can see this all in the footage below, and then we will discuss the actual oil tanker’s owner’s response to Trump and his administration’s warmongering.

Iran has denied being responsible for the attack and Yukaka Katada, the owner of one of the attacked oil tankers, is now claiming that the U.S. is wrong about the way the attack was carried out. Speaking at a press conference in Tokyo today, he contradicted Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the U.S. Navy by revealing that his ship was hit on the opposite side of the footage Trump and the Navy released.

Katada said his ship was hit by a flying object, not by a mine. “It seems that something flew towards them. That created the hole, is the report I’ve received,” Katada said, “It seems there was a high chance they were attacked by a flying object. The impact was well above the water. I don’t think it was a torpedo.”

Iran is claiming that the boat in the Navy footage was simply trying to rescue sailors and this statement by Katada seems to back that up. The military industrial complex needs a new war so they can continue to steal billions from us through taxpayer funded war. It is important to watch this developing situation closely and skeptically.
