Nancy Pelosi Reveals Her Latest Position On Impeaching Trump On Her 1st Day As House Speaker

Nancy Pelosi will be?House Speaker at noon eastern today and she is ready to start 2019 with a powerful agenda designed to oppose Donald Trump on all levels. Pelosi gave an interview and made an appearance on NBC?s ?Today? show, where she outlined her stance on impeaching Trump and how Democrats will continue to negotiate over Trump’s call for border wall funding.

Pelosi made a significant statement on impeachment and supported it more than we have ever seen. Previously, Pelosi has not openly stated any major desire to impeach Donald Trump and she often has redirected to discussing policy issues when asked about impeachment, but during her interview from this morning, she seriously put impeachment on the table for the first time.

Pelosi was asked, “Do you believe the special counsel should honor and observe the Department of Justice guidance that states a sitting president cannot be indicted?? to which she answered,??I do not think that that is conclusive. No, I do not.?

?Let’s just see what Mueller does. It’s not the law. I think that that is an open discussion. I think that is an open discussion in terms of the law,” Pelosi continued, which shows that she has given considerably thought to impeachment and remains very open to it.

Pelosi just wants to see what Mueller reports first, which makes sense. She is smart and only wants to move on impeaching Trump when she has the public’s full support in the wake of Mueller’s report.

Pelosi also confirmed that Trump will be getting absolutely “nothing” for his border wall. At this point, some time into the government shutdown, it is clear that Democrats will be forcing Trump to back down over this “negotiation” that has gone terribly wrong for him. “We can go through the back and forth. No. How many more times can we say no? Nothing for the wall.?
