Russia’s state-owned television network is sounding the alarm on a potential nuclear war between the United States and Russia and is running segments pushing the country’s citizens to stock their bunkers with water and basic food and supplies. You can watch the segment below, as even though it is in Russian, it is heavily imagery based for maximum impact on viewers. This is really what people are being forced to watch over there.
The video includes charts explaining how much water people need to store for drinking, washing their face and hands, and preparing food every day, and also recommends that people stock up on gas masks and read guides on how to survive nuclear war. “If there is a strike by the Americans, then the missiles will be downed and even the sources from which the missiles were fired,” warned Alexander Zasypkin, Russia’s ambassador to Lebanon, during an interview on Tuesday.
So should you be concerned? Not really, at this time. This basically is exactly the type of garbage the Russia government and Putin in particular need to do in order to maintain control over their population. Widespread reports indicate that Putin did not win a fair election, and on top of that, Russia’s economy has been in poor shape for some time. Fear is the best way to keep people in check, so that’s what they are doing here.
If Russia shot down Trump’s missiles, the most likely scenario would be a Russia-U.S. war mainly in Syria. That being said, a potential nuclear war is in fact always a possibility, and the chances of one occurring are higher than normal right now due to tensions in Syria, but urging people to rush out and stock their bunkers is over doing it. You should be worried, but not that worried.
