A TV host and sports broadcaster named Leeann Tweeden has accused Senator Al Franken of Minnesota of kissing and groping her without her consent in 2006. Different from the many recent sexual misconduct allegations recently, Leeann Tweeden has provided strong evidence in the form of a photograph of Franken’s conduct. Just because Franken is a Democrat, does not mean he should get a pass on treating women this way.
At least part of Tweeden’s story of Franken’s touching is confirmed in the photo below, which clearly shows that Franken touched her chest while she was sleeping. In a dark article she published today, Tweeden recounts that Frank assaulted her while she was on a tour to the middle east to entertain U.S. troops with comedy routines.

“It wasn’t until I was back in the U.S. and looking through the CD of photos we were given by the photographer that I saw this one,” Tweeden wrote, “I felt violated all over again. Embarrassed. Belittled. Humiliated. How dare anyone grab my breasts like this and think it’s funny?”
Franken has responded and admitted he was wrong, “I certainly don’t remember the rehearsal for the skit in the same way, but I send my sincerest apologies to Leeann. As to the photo, it was clearly intended to be funny but wasn’t. I shouldn’t have done it.”

Democrats can use this situation to take the high ground and show that the party takes these situations seriously and looks out for victims of unacceptable behavior such as this. Just because Republicans and Trump have not properly dealt with scumbag Roy Moore, doesn’t mean Democrats should do the same thing. Franken rose to fame when he used to star on “Saturday Night Live” and has been considered a possible 2020 presidential candidate, but after today, there is no way he will be running for President.
