By now you have probably heard about the absolutely horrific situation that occurred in New Zealand, but you may not know that Donald Trump promoted an interview he gave with an anti-Muslim, Islamophobic media publisher last night. Trump has deleted the social media post he made, but the internet is forever and we have it below.
Last night Trump tried to promote his interview with Breitbart News Network, in which he explained how “tough” his supporters could get, “I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad.”
Trump shared a link to Breitbart to promote his interview but he obviously panicked and deleted it after the initial reports of the New Zealand mosque shooters came in. Even Trump knew how bad it looked for him to be praising how “tough” his supporters are after one of his radical supporters murdered nearly 50 innocent people in a mosque. A screenshot of Trump’s now deleted social media post can be seen below.
“So here’s the thing—it’s so terrible what’s happening,” Trump said in the interview, before discussing his supporters. “You know, the left plays a tougher game, it’s very funny. I actually think that the people on the right are tougher, but they don’t play it tougher. Okay?”
The rise in extremism is directly correlated to Donald Trump’s election. For that reason alone, he needs to be removed from the White House. These attacks will only continue with Trump in office. We can all argue about a solution to this violence, but we all know the answer deep down; Trump radicalizes far right lunatics to the point that they are willing to commit atrocities.
