Trump Springs Bush Sr.’s Trap? Trump Somehow Just Made Bush’s Funeral All About Him

Donald Trump was so excited about finally being allowed to attend a prominent political figure’s funeral that he once again proved that he has no decency and only thinks about himself. Trump made an announcement about former President George H.W. Bush’s funeral service that will be held this Wednesday.

Let’s see if you can spot what’s wrong with Trump’s statement that he posted to social media this morning, “Looking forward to being with the Bush Family to pay my respects to President George H.W. Bush.”

Looking forward to a funeral? What kind of sociopath looks forward to a funeral? Trump somehow always manages to strike the wrong tone for any occasion and make it all about himself. Isn’t it predictable that Trump would do this after all we’ve seen of him?

Trump may be feeling anxious about this funeral because of who he will have to see there. Recall that just last week, Trump retweeted an image that pictured former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, along with former campaign rival Hillary Clinton, all behind bars and in prison. At the funeral, Trump will probably come into contact with all these people that he has grossly attacked, for the first time since his inauguration.

it will be awkward because Obama and Clinton have friendly relationships with the Bush family, especially Bush’s son, former President George W. Bush. These things will almost certainly be discussed at the funeral and Trump will be left out because he has no such ties.

41st president Bush Sr. made clear he wanted Trump at his funeral, which was explained as him putting the office of the presidency above personal quarrels. But did Bush Sr. set a trap for Trump by inviting him? Keep in mind that Bush Sr. was quoted in a book by Mark Updegrove as saying about Trump, “I don’t like him. I don’t know much about him, but I know he’s a blowhard. And I’m not too excited about him being a leader.”

Bush Sr. was no fan of Trump and based off his quotes, he knew exactly what type of person Trump is. Did he really set a trap by inviting him? We cannot know that for sure. But what we do know is that Trump’s statement today was a mistake that can be added to the pile of evidence that makes the case as to why he should not be president. We can almost certainly expect that he is going to make a fool out of himself at Bush’s funeral, which again, may have been by design.
