Democrats only need to convince 20 GOP Senators to vote to remove Donald Trump from office when impeachment makes it to the Senate and there are powerful groups working behind the scenes to help make that happen.
A group called Defend American Democracy, funded by historic levels of donations to the Democratic Party, is now spending millions running a TV ad that features military veterans saying that they upheld their oath to “support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic” and that it’s time for Republicans in Congress to do the same.
The ads are airing on “Fox and Friends” in Washington, D.C. and in 14 GOP held congressional districts. They call on Republican representatives to “put country over politics” by holding Donald Trump accountable for “abusing his office and risking national security for his own gain.” As you can see by the comments on this advertisement, Trump supporters are panicking about it, mainly because they realize the ad is effective.
Defend American Democracy veterans are also getting right in the faces of GOP Senators to urge them to uphold their oath and recognize that Donald Trump must be removed from office. GOP Senator Lindsey Graham had to run into his office and hide from a Defend American Democracy veteran who confronted him in person on Friday.

This group is especially scary to Trump supporters because it is backed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who just this past week showed solidarity with the group and said, “No one is above the law.We all take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
